Ruddy 2011 - not a good start!!!!!!

Hi all,

I am still here all be it feeling a bit bruised and battered after a spell in hospital that is going to see me laid up for a bit. I had hoped for a better new year as last year really was a trial of wills on many levels but this year is already heading the same.

My dad had a heart attack two weeks ago out of the blue and so we were all running around like mad hatters ensuring that he was OK, I am pleased to say that he spent four days in hospital and has been home resting and is doing as well as could be expected.

Then my turn, with very little prior warning a week to the day of my dads illness my appendix's decided to go into free for all and land me in hospital, I was operated on of Tuesday of last week and could not just be a routine job could I, no not I, I react to the Morphine they are giving me to control the abdominal pains and then react to the anesthetic and land in recovery for two hours and then have to be on a heart monitor and full oxygen for 12 hours after as my heart and oxygen levels were all over the place. I returned home on Thursday and am just getting my head around the fact that I can't do the tasks that I did prior to the operation in such a short time as it flipping hurts and makes me feel exhausted.

Sadly I missed out exhibiting four of my cats yesterday at a show and I have another booked that also looks unlikely that I will be able to attend, so in all not feeling on top of the world right know.

If it takes me a time to get back to you if you ring or email it is either that I haven't the energy to turn the computer on or can't get to the phone as quickly as I could.

    Thank you both the operation has taken more out of me than I could have guessed, but all being well I should be up and about at the normal pace in another week or two.

    Hi Lesley,
    I am getting there feel far more like my normal self the last few days, especially after getting readmitted for assessment due to a deep tissue infection but thankfully that has sorted its self out and the wound has healed. Still off work for a few weeks but should be fighting fit in another week or so.
